Windows 10 Vs Windows 8 Vs Windows 7: What's The Difference?

Alright, this has nothing to do with upgrade reservation, but I had no other topic to pick since it was the only one. Anyways, I tested Windows 10 build yesterday on my main machine before rolling back to Windows 7. Build is not the only build where this occured for me, but build , build , build , and build had the same problem. Does anyone else have this same issue? When you say uses more, are you saying its using so much you can't complete other operations? RAM is not intended to be idle and be on standby.

The operating system should all of it if it is available and as the executive software appropriately reallocate it if you request another application. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. This is ridiculous for a browser that is supposed to be leaner and better then IE. But Come on this is really getting out of hand with RAM use and browsers. The Edge probably uses more RAM because of all of its new features like being able to write notes on a web page, or other integrated features.

Its fast but, and that's a big but! I doubt I will be able to use it with my Stream Personally, after given Windows 10 a couple days to settle down. I find it to be slower, more of a memory hog. I did adjust Windows performance settings and it ran better.

But then again I did not have to do this with Windows 8. I have 4 gigs of ram ok. I have windows 10 pro 64 bit build I need a solution every game I run it loads very slowly not like when I was on win 7. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Andre Da Costa Article Author. Is it adversely affecting performance? Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Andre Da Costa's post on July 16, Performance isn't really affected as long as there is useable RAM , and occasionally the amount of memory being used will go down, but soon will come back up to above or at 50 percent.

In reply to JonLatso's post on July 17, There is problem: Chrome, its an absolute memory and battery hog. I would stop using it immediately. In reply to Andre Da Costa's post on July 17, I have found that Waterfox is the best browser, seems faster and more stable, it's one of a few 64bit browsers I could find. Tony MacDonald.

I think you need to read up on superfetch. Windows Vista and above move from prefetch mem manager to Superfetch. The goal is to not leave ram sitting un-used but rather to use it all by learning over a few days what apps you use regularly and pre-loading them in to ram. This site in other languages x.
